Walsall St George
St George's ecclesiastical parish was formed in February 1878. The church, in Pershouse Street, was erected in 1875, in stone, in the Early English style.
Church History
St George's church, erected in 1875 from the designs of Robert Griffiths of Stafford, was a building of stone in the Early English style and consisted of a chancel, nave, aisles, and south porch.
Services ceased in 1964 due to the dangerous state of the building and St George's was demolished in December 1964 and the parish abolished.

The register of the church of St George commences in 1878. The original registers for the period 1878-1961 (Bapts) & 1878-1962 (Mar) are deposited at Staffordshire Record Office.
A microfilm copy of some of the registers is held at Walsall Local History Centre.
