"St. Chad's, a curacy, value £250, in the patronage of the vicar. The church is at Stow, and the oldest in the neighbourhood. St. Chad's hermitage and well are close to the church, which formerly contained his shrine"

"CURBOROUGH, a township in the parish of Lichfield St. Chad, N. division of the hundred of Offlow, in the county of Stafford, 2 miles N.E. of Lichfield, its post town. It is joined with Elmhurst."

"ELMHURST, a township united with Curborough in the parish of Lichfield St. Chad, N. division of the hundred of Offlow, county Stafford, 2 miles N. of Lichfield. Elmhurst Hall is the principal residence."
