"ACTON TRUSSELL, a chapelry united with Bednall, in the parish of Baswich, hundred of Cuttlestone, in the county of Stafford, 2 miles to the N.E. of Penkridge. It is situated on the river Trent, and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal; and is near the London and North Western railway, and the great heath called Cannock Chase. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Lichfield, value £234, and in the patronage of Hulme's trustees. The church is dedicated to St. James."
