"BREDHURST, a parish in the hundred of Eyhorne, lathe of Aylesford, in the county of Kent, 4, miles to the N.E. of Maidstone. Chatham is its post town. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Canterbury, value £101, in the patronage of the archbishop. The church, which is old and of very small dimensions, is dedicated to St. Peter."
